What are the Preschool Hours?

  • The Preschool hours are 6:45 a.m.-6:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Our schedule is consistent with the Oregon City School District Calendar regarding Holidays, Winter and Spring Breaks.
  • We will not, however, observe district “no school days” (teacher work days/in service days). In other words, we will have regular preschool on those days.
  • In addition, the preschool program operates through the summer.

What are the fees and tuition for Preschool?

There is a $50 annual registration fee per family, per school year (September-August).  Monthly tuition is as follows:

                                    3 days per week                 $490/month

                                    2 days per week                 $360/month

We do not have a daily rate and do not accept “drop-ins”.

Part time space is limited. Those families selecting 2 or 3 days per week must select and adhere to the same days each week.

Health and Well Being

All of our staff has passed a background check. Our teachers and assistants are First Aid/CPR certified, possess an Oregon Food Handlers Card, and have had training in Blood Borne Pathogens, as well as State of Oregon Child Abuse and Neglect identification and prevention.

Please do not bring an ill child to preschool.

·

If your child has a fever please keep him/her home until the fever has been gone, without the use of fever reducing medication, for 24 hours.

·

Please also keep your child home if he/she has: diarrhea; nausea/vomiting; skin rash of unknown origin; discharge from the nose or eyes that is other than clear in color.

What if my child needs medication during the preschool day?

1.

An Authorization for Medication must be filled out by the parent and signed by the physician.

2.

All prescription medication must be in the original container with the student’s and the physician’s names and directions clearly marked on a pharmacy label.

3.

All over-the-counter medication must be in the original container with the parent’s special instructions for the individual child.

Medications should be administered by a parent if at all possible before attending Preschool.

What are the procedures that staff would follow if they suspected a parent, guardian, or approved pick up person is under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of pick up?

It seems hard to believe, but this issue has come up from time to time. Because the safety of the children is our top priority, if there is ANY question as to whether someone is capable of safely transporting a child and caring for them, that person will be asked to call someone else approved to pick up the child, or we will call another contact.  In an instance where the approved pick up person will not comply with this request, 911 will be called. Please know that we will always err on the side of safety.

What additional information do I need to know?

  • Children must be toilet trained.
  • Please have your child bring a coat, with his/her name in it, to school each day.
  • Please have your child wash his/her hands upon arrival.
  • Please walk your child in/out of the preschool and sign him/her in.
  • Please send a “sack lunch” with your child each day.
  • Volunteers must complete a school district background check and be approved.
  • Please be sure that we are advised of any allergies your child has.
  • We must a have a copy of your child’s immunization record.

What are the procedures to withdraw my child from the preschool program?

If you withdraw your child from the program for any reason, please notify Oregon City Community Programs and Resources (503-785-8520), as well as your child’s teacher, at least two weeks in advance.

Thank you for entrusting your child to us.  We will do our best to provide a fun, nurturing, healthy and safe learning environment.
