Oregon City Superintendent Announces Leadership Changes at CAIS and McLoughlin Elementary

On June 4, 2012 Oregon City School District Superintendent Larry Didway announced Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS) Principal Ginger Redlinger will become the Principal at John McLoughlin Elementary. King Elementary Principal Kyle Laier has been named Principal at CAIS, following the closure of King Elementary at the end of the school year.

"Ginger Redlinger and Kyle Laier both have outstanding records as talented educational leaders," Didway said. "We are fortunate to have both of them on our administrative team."

Redlinger succeeds Gary McCormick, who had served as interim principal at John McLoughlin Elementary since Carol Sanders was named Director of School Improvement in 2011. Redlinger has twenty years experience in education and has been with the Oregon City School District for six years. Prior to that she was the K-12 mathematics and engineering program specialist for the Oregon Department of Education. She has taught at many levels, including 6th grade, and also taught summer programs for grades K-4. Redlinger has multiple passions she likes to share with students: learning, reading, robotics, soccer, art, and music.

"While I will miss the staff and students at CAIS, I am VERY excited about working with the John McLoughlin staff, students and their families! When I filled in for Cindy Fillis at Redland Elementary two years ago, I discovered the joy and challenge of leading an elementary school - and I loved it!" said Redlinger. "I am looking forward to being part of the John McLoughlin community."

Laier has been principal at King Elementary since 2008. Prior to that he was a Social Studies teacher at Ogden Middle School. He came to the district from Southern California where he spent four years building a program at a new high school. Laier has coached high school and college basketball for 15 years.

"Throughout my years with the district, I've had opportunities to influence our students and prepare them for the future," Laier said. "I look forward to continuing to do so with the students at CAIS".
