Oregon City Technology Department and Gaffney Lane Digital Classroom Named Apple Exemplary Programs

The Oregon City School District is pleased to announce that it has been named an Apple Exemplary Program for Gaffney Lane Elementary School's Digital Classroom and the Technology Department's server virtualization project.

The Apple Exemplary Program designation is reserved for K-12 programs that have demonstrated a strong, well-articulated use of Apple products in K-12 education. The District received 2 of only 38 designations awarded nationwide.

New District Website Design Launches

The new design has an improved layout, more color, more pictures, and other various design enhancements! However, please note that the site will still have the same structure and content so there will not be a need to re-learn where information is located!

New District Website Launches!

First off thanks to all the people that have helped in the development of this huge project. We had a great deal of interest and input over the last few months as we ramped up to launching and it was greatly appreciated. We look forward to more participation and input now that there is something that we can all use and work with.

More information about the new website will be posted soon, however we want everyone to be aware that the previous website, in its entirety, can be viewed at http://archive.orecity.k12.or.us. We did this so that no one would go without or be forced to learn a new system overnight. Normally this is not done when websites are redesigned, but we decided to invest time into this feature as we understand the intense demands on all the users of this district resource. To complete this task we had to work with nearly 160,000 files and edit them all so that the website would still be usable after launching this new site.

Stay tuned for more information about the new site, how to use it, its features, and things we are planning for the future!

Help Design the Look and Layout for the New District Website

We have a new website that is based on a powerful website management system. We have spent countless hours setting up new powerful servers and services along with a scalable structure for content.

We have spent some time on creating a nice looking layout as well, but it is just temporary.  We want to create something that really represents the Oregon City School District and we want your help.  Sure we have ideas of how to make a great looking site, but so do you and we want to hear all about it!

Please send us any of the following:

  • Links to beautiful and elegant websites that have layout or visual qualites you think could apply to our district website. Note: these sites do not have to be educational sites.
  • Pictures that could be used in the design.
  • Digital or paper sketches of layout and design ideas.
  • Anything else that might help determine the look and feel of the new site.

We are accepting input from anyone with an interest in the look and feel of the new district website.
